What if…
The “Apple Television” (or whatever they’ll call it to differentiate between it and AppleTV) will come with an iPod Touch. The iPod will have a new iRemote App (or whatever they’ll call it) preloaded that will act as the TV’s main interface. Standard remote functions, as well as specific features like those already included in the AppleTV (e.g., search).
That way, they also move iPods and aim for a halo effect…
Thoughts? Is this a dumb idea?

Nope. Sounds entirely plausible. We bought a Mac Mini which we hooked up to our TV +ripped all our DVDs into it. No more DVD collecting dust

Apple’s going to have to do some soul-searching for a true television device that SHOULD be open to bigger iOS games. Perhaps Jobs really did crack the interface nut and Cook et. al. are hard at work on it.

My boyfriend jailbroke his Apple TV and found a way to turn his phone into a remote. The tech behind it is beyond me, but it’s pretty cool.
